Product Testing Services:

The Company currently owns and operates 6 furniture testing laboratories in Asia; 3 in China and 1 each in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. Five of the testing labs primarily test wood or “casegoods” products while our Haining, China lab is dedicated primarily to testing upholstery products. Outlook is the only sourcing and quality management company in Asia with its own dedicated testing labs used to support its quality control services as well as offering 3rd party testing services to othercustomers. The testing services cover a full range of product and properties testing including packaging, finishing properties, construction stability, product strength and durability, moisture control properties, etc. Our testing labs utilize known worldwide testing standards as well as product testing protocols developed in-house and with its international clients. The owners of Outlook, in partnership with another individual, formed Outlook Technical Services (OTS) in 2010 and is in the process of spinning off the first two (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and Dongguan, China) labs into this new company to be an independent home furnishings testing company. OTS has initiated the process to get these labs certified so that we can expand its testing services into a full range of product testing services, including high risk product categories, as well as expend its testing clientele.

Furniture Packaging in Asia:

Outlook tests its products using recognized industry testing protocols and works closely with manufacturers to identify, correct, and then re-test products following test failures.

Furniture Finishing and Color Control:

Another leading cause of defects from Asia is product that ships off color. Both of the company’s owners and several of our other managers have extensive experience in the furniture coatings industry in the USA and Asia. The company employs finishing technicians throughout Asia to support our manufacturers and inspectors and we work closely with the coatings suppliers in order to meet our customers finishing expectations. Outlook maintains detailed processes and procedures for maintaining color control and consistency during the manufacturing process.

Detail Oriented:

Every detail of a products construction is maintained in our product data sheets. Every aspect of the sample development process and revisions are tracked, photographed and recorded using sample review sheets. Customer approved master color samples are carefully maintained so that finishes can be accurately reproduced. Product Emphasis sheets identify potential production issues by item and are updated based on experience and customer feedback throughout the life of the product. Results of product tests in the company’s laboratories are recorded in test reports issued to the factory, our inspectors and the customer as needed. Shipment alerts are issued to vendors whose production appears to be behind schedule. The list just goes on from there. We believe that Outlook is the most detailed company in the home furnishings industry in Asia!
